The Chinese calendar is based upon the cyclical nature of the phases of the moon. The lunar year 1999 reigns as the Year of the Rabbit, constant and sensitive, and further anticipating even more climatic change for the Year of the Dragon in the lunar year 2000.

Each Lunar Year is depicted by a characteristic animal trait. Your birth year and hour of birth determine your dominant animal sign and characteristic natural element.
